About the movie v.2.2 The idea appeared about a year ago after about 6 months of our involvement in the Zeitgeist Movement. I wanted to just take my video camera and my backpack, stand by the side of the road with my thumb up and hitch-hike to whatever country people will take me to meet TZM supporters and members and to film what they do, their actions and events. Alas, it was impossible for me in the summer of 2010 due to the lack of a decent camcorder and the fact that I didn't know the Zeitgeist World too well yet. Some time ago I was able to buy myself some filming equipment and what is even more important I had a chance to meet some of the most incredible people in my life, and most of them had one thing in common - they were all TZM supporters. We would like to do a documentary about the European side of the Zeitgeist Movement, to create a film telling the story of the development, visions, activism, ups and downs of the TZM Members living on the "Old Continent". This is going to be your story, our story. In the film we want to show European TZM events, actions, meetings with the public, street activism but also your everyday struggles in and with the system. We also want to do interviews with many TZM members and supporters representing as many European countries as possible so that the film presents the whole big picture. The idea is to get a better understanding of what The Zeitgeist Movement means in Europe and how it manifests itself in the „Old World”. The film, being a documentary (or even more precisely a travel-documentary) does not have a fixed script. The final shape will be dictated by what we experience during the journey. Interviews section People from all the countries (both TZM Activists and random people in the street/on the road) will be asked similar questions. No worries, they all will answer in their mother tongues to stress our cultural diversity. Later on we will ask TZM LingTeam members to help us translate these interviews so that we can edit them into one big multilingual interview session. The NEW VERSION OF THE questions is as follows:
As you can see some of the questions refer to very specific things connected with the situation in one’s country. Therefore, we would like to ask the people who want to take part in this project and be interviewed to do a survey and research concerning the topics of political/social/legal situation in their country (what rights do you have as a citizen and what rights does the authorities have eg. the police etc.). The aim of these questions is to gather crucial data about the situation in Europe that would show the audience if the American situation that most such films talk about is really that different from the European one and which countries are in the best/worst situation.
As far as the main body of the movie is concerned, we want to fill it in with a whole range of activities that Zeitgeisters are involved in from the simplest regular meetings, through street activism, leaflets giveaways, LingTeam effort, lectures, graphic design, events preparation and events hosting, sticker sticking, stencil making, to big whole country meetings/events/festivals. It doesn’t matter if your Chapter is small and does not organise big events. Your everyday struggle to persuade at least one more person may be as interesting and important as a big Z-day event. =o) Most probably we’ll also ask you to share some of your archival footage from your activism history so that we can include it in the film. If you can have it more or less prepared by the time we come and visit your chapters that would be sweet. ;o)
We are also looking for people who could supply us with music for the movie. If you are a musician, or better a composer please contact us (through the contact section of the site). Your help will be very much appreciated!
How may the film look like? Right now the idea for the movie is as follows: For the most part we will be able to hear the Zeitgeisters speaking in their native languages, describing the movement, the situation in their countries in the audio track. The video will consist mostly of the footage we'll get from the meetings and actions we will take part in wherever we go. The initial version will be with English subtitles and if we are lucky we may also produce a voice-over version in English. If possible the film will be released on the Internet before Z-day 2012 for free (as any other Zeitgeist production ^_=) so that the chapters can screen it for their Z-day if they so wish. |
